Light

Patience is a virtue. I know personally that I struggle daily with this virtue. It is hard to wait. So very hard.

We taught our children at a very young age that it was important to learn to wait, especially for those things that are important. We intentionally took them to restaurants to show them the importance of a meal together and the beauty of the experience.

We had them circle wants for their Christmas lists and intentionally did not fulfill all of their wishes.

We reminded them when they had to wait in line, wait in an airport, or wait for something to come or go, that they were the lucky ones, that this was all in their lives that they had to wait for.

We taught them that they work hard, and waited for a paycheck. They save for what they want, and buy what they need.

We failed at this sometimes. Many times, but in the end, they are growing to be hard-working, God-fearing Patriots who know what is important and what can wait.

Our society has moved to instant gratification. We want our food fast, our needs met and we want it all right now, with no waiting. This has moved us to be a self-gratifying culture to say the least.

I would like to ponder what is in front of us as we wait.

Many have moved on since the election, and this is ok in my mind. Many need to. Many cannot process what is before us.

Many want to believe in something, the wrong thing to guide their lives.

God is ultimately in charge and many do not have a faith foundation to draw on.

Many people hate one person so very much that they are driven by this.

This is VERY dangerous territory.

When hate becomes your motivator, you have turned your back on God. You erode your trust in Him, and it opens the door for EVIL to take over your heart.

I would challenge you, as I challenge myself in the next few weeks, to hold on to what your heart tells you to be true. Do not listen to your head. It is filled with noise that is designed to divide.

Let go of all media and ground yourself in your faith in God. Stop looking to these “gods” we have created and take back control over your thoughts.

I would like to leave you today with these thoughts:

Be careful, what is done in the dark comes to light sooner or later.

Done in the darkness

The Truth comes to light

Never be afraid

To stand up and fight

My determination is strong

Intent with a purpose

It’s time to reveal now

Bring the demons to the surface

The fight will be long

We can never give up

Some days will feel impossible

But enough is enough

We will defeat this

One step at a time

The life you were living

Will be defended in mine

-Kristin Bordelon

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. – John 3:20-21

Hold true to this my friends. Pray. Trust. Hold the light.
